Snoring, Obstructive Sleep Apnea, and Glorious Sleep

I’ve been using a CPAP since 2015 to stop my snoring and sleep apnea. It’s great! Lemme tell you some things about my experience. I can’t believe I haven’t written more about this! With a CPAP, I need 1 hr less sleep per night AND I wake up more rested AND my throat doesn’t hurt […]

Smokey in Northern California

Welp, it’s wildfire season in Northern California. I just got finished sealing up the intake of our heating system. The smoke outside is pretty bad. The air filter does a lot to help. It’s an overcast day but not foggy, that’s smoke in the street

Smokey Bay Area

Clean air tip: If the air is smokey, go to the hardware store and get a really good furnace filter. Your home will feel like a bubble of good air in an otherwise smokey mess. (The bay area forest fires are getting kinda crazy. We’re safe but the smoke is everywhere)

Sorry About The Spam

TL;DNR: I was getting 50,000 spam email bounces per day. I enabled SPF, DMARC, and DKIM. I made an email filter at Dreamhost to stop the email forwarding madness from Dreamhost to my Gmail account. Problem solved! (for now) Tens of thousands of people have been getting spam claiming to be from Lee.org. (Update 8-4-18: […]

How To Fix PDF Search In Windows 7

I’ve been using Windows File Explorer to search through all my school work to find things. For example, if I want to find all my Powerpoints on Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation, I just open up File Explorer and type “PNF”. By default, Windows 7 and 8 doesn’t search through PDF files! Here is how to fix […]

Make Your Own Almond Milk

I can (and do!) make excellent almond milk at home. Compared with hauling boxes home from the store, mine looks and tastes about the same, is nutritionally the same, costs 1/10 as much,  takes literally 30 seconds of effort, has far less container waste, and I get buckets of foodie cred every time I mention […]

Presenting the Burning Man 2013 Resource Guide! From the Jack Rabbit Speaks, “We’ve compiled a list of fellow JRS readers who are offering you their bits, bobs, wares, services and suchlike (and often special discounts for Burners) to help you prepare for the playa.” This is a simply spectacular listing of burniphenalia. Enjoy! (Find the […]

Android Essentials Update

These are all Android apps I heartily use and recommend for my AT&T Galaxy S phone. Find all these apps on Google Play for your Android phone. RealCalc Scientific Calculator – a great calculator. The stock calculator suuuuucks but RealCalc is great (and costs like a buck or something!) NoLED – It turns on the […]

Look, a Dragonfly!

I’ve been posting to Craigslist a bit recently. Phew, the spammers love the Craigslist. Every post generates about 5 spams. It’s possible that Craigslist is filtering another 5,000 automatically. Feh. So I’ve been seeing the message belowa lot. It’s kind of cute, isn’t it? A nice distraction from my, probably more realistic image of a […]

Best. Comment. Spam. Ever.

Every day I get 1 or 2 comment spams written by real people that get past my spam filters. Of late they’ve been coming from the Philippines and Ukraine. Usually they are poor excuses for spams. For example, today I received on Burning Man 2010 Resource Guide — Part 1: I had never heard of […]
