I heard about Pandora on Inside the Net with Amber MacArthur (and Leo Laporte. It’s an internet radio player with a powerful recomendation engine behind it. All I know is that it plays a really good music fer free. And it runs inside Flash so even Trav can use it if he’s got speakers.
Pandora is truly excellent. It knows about Robert Earl Keen and Jerry Jeff Walker AND it plays what I think of as ‘new age krep’ for my wife’s store. What more can you ask for?
Hmm. I tried to make a channel with Sarah McLachlan and the Sex Pistols in it. I was hoping to find music that sounded like both. Unfortunately, Pandora just would alternate between the two styles.
This could make for a critical problem in their system. I might never find entire genres of music because I don’t have an artist that will give me an “in”.
