I made this for the Good Earth School Harvest Festival 10-27-18 and it was a big hit :-)

Recipe By:Eagle brand

  • "Keep some condensed milk on hand for cold days, and whip up a batch of this rich hot chocolate warm your loved ones."

Ingredients

  • 1 (14 ounce) can EAGLE BRAND(R) Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 6 1/2 cups hot water
  • Mini marshmallows (optional)

Directions: In large saucepan over medium heat, combine sweetened condensed milk, cocoa, vanilla and salt; mix well. Slowly stir in water. Heat through, stirring occasionally. Do not boil. Top with marshmallows, (optional). Store covered in refrigerator.

I added a good sprinkle of cayenne pepper and that really made it! Just hot enough to be noticed, not enough to be called Mexican Hot Chocolate

I also made some vegan hot chocolate with soy milk and sugar. That was great too. It's like, when you use chocolate, you can't lose!
