Mara Tirane's long lost husband, come back to life for a weekend -lee Cormac Llewellyn Tirane born Belassar Kitheria 560 died Rotaria 589 (age 29) married Mara (Myrtle) Nicosia Vila (Tirane) 586 (met in Army 584 when he was assigned to her command) (Rank Lieutenant) Cormac is the youngest son of a respected but poor noble family in Kitheria. He had no hopes of inheriting either the family land or title and therefore chose to earn his own name and noble rank by entering the army of Evendarr to prove his worth. Cormac was raised in the truest tradition of the Code of Chivalry and is "lawful good" (unless Lee changes his mind and we decide to get rid of Cormac by executing them for necromancy). Cormac is not without ambition, however, and Mara and Cormac were married out of a belief that each had the connections and talents that the other needed. Mara needed his noble connections and Cormac needed her political connections, and also recognized that Mara had the ruthlessness that he lacked. They did indeed fall in love after they were married and were completely devoted to each other. People to talk to : First, avoid anyone you know until you decide its a good idea. You would be recognized by : Camilla, who was VERY good friends with both of us during the marriage Sir Thyren (Steve Babbin, Jesse's boyfriend) who doesn't know you're playing this role, so you'll have to tell him who you are if you talk to him. (Just an acquantance) This is what you know about Mara: How you died: The morning of your death, Mara and Cormac both received written messages that implied that each of us was having an affair with the other's best friend. THe message was delivered by someone we each has reason to trust (though they were probably paid off) and contained enough faked detailed information to seem true. We both more or less believed it. (Mara was accused of an affair with WIlliam; Cormac was accused of an affair with Camilla; each was told that the other was planning on leaving the marriage.) Later that day, we were ordered to move out to evacuate a small town on the Red River in Rotaria. It was being threatened by major flooding. On the way there we also received warning that a band of orcs was heading to attack the town to take advantage of the confusion. We had to decide whether to hold off the orcs or send our men to help with the evacuation. Mara decided to send a small group off under her best commander, Cormac, to harry and delay the orcs while the remainder of the company went to evacuate the town. It was a difficult choice and to this day she cannot be sure that it was not influenced by her anger and sense of betrayal. The number of orcs was larger than expected and the entire company was killed. Two people, Cormac and his boyhood friend William ap Rhys took their final deaths. At the same time, Cormac's battle tactics were probably also influenced by his anger at both William and mara, and he took chances he shouldn't have taken. Note: Both Mara and Cormac hate orcs now. The idea of an orc noble would repulse Cormac. You will first be gathering information. You want to find out what kind of person this new Duke is, and if this is a marriage of love. You believe, becuase you're that kind of noble guy, that if you find that bryan is going to be a good leader and truly loves Mara, that you will find the strength to turn around and walk out of town without revealing yourself. (NOT) (You will introduce yourself as Sir Llewellyn, which isn't REALLY a lie, is it?) Where it goes from here depends on what you find out and what you want to do. I expect that you will find certain sentiment against Bryan. Other things you know about Mara: Mara was not born in a rich family, as she has implied. Her family was very poor and she left them behind. She has had NOTHING to do with her family in over 25 years. Mara was married to Edward Vila, a wealthy merchant in Volta. She has two children, a son named Ethelred, and a daughter named Josephine. You know that she was "involved" with Joseph while he was still an army commander and she served in his unit. You also know that Joseph was a pretty lousy commander and Mara was continually working to support him and also paid a lot of his gambling debts. You have asked her outright in the past if Josephine is Joseph's daughter and she refused to answer. She said : "THere are only two men in the world who have the right to ask that question. One of them already asked and the other one doesn't seem to care". Mara was married to Edward at the time that both children were born. She was divorced from him after 5 years of marriage. THe boy is 16 and the girl is 14. It is possible that someone will ask you if Mara ever owned slaves. She has told you that she did not - they couldn't afford them. She was jealous of the girls who had personal slaves, though, and that was one of the things that made her leave home to seek her fortune.
