Yes, I like to start with 2 drops oil of cinnamon to 1 of clove. BTW,

best place to get oil of cinnamon is at a place that sells

candy-making supplies. Most drug stores have oil of clove - ask the

pharmacist.

Do the yolk part of the batter first. Beat until a smooth

lemon-yellow color. Make sure beaters and bowl are spotless and

grease-free before beating the whites. Beat whites to soft peaks.

Then fold whites into yolks.

One part egg batter to two parts hot (not boiled) milk. (If you don't

have a double boiler, heat milk carefully in a non-stick pan.) Booze

to taste.

>optional booze: half something and half something else. what was it?

Optional booze is traditionally a half and half mixture of brandy

(Christian Brothers or equivalent American brandy is fine) and an

Amber Rum.

The half-doz. batch will make enough for one serving each for about

20-24 people, if served in punch cups.

Official credit for the recipe: We got it from Tom and Terri Theyson,

who got it from the Hotel Spaulding in Duluth, MN, where it has been

served since it's founding by a German immigrant who brought the

recipe with him from Germany.

Hope you enjoy and have a great party!

Love and hugs!

Dad

I've got to say that this is kick-ass egg-nog. Really. Really.

Yes. Really.

This might be the only good thing to come of my relationship with Miriam and Rebecca.
